How To Download Subtitles In VLC Automatically

When we watch a movie of the other language which we don't use regularly  then its obvious that we're gonna face some issues of not getting what exactly has been spoken in the movie. So to avoid this issues there are plenty of websites which provide the subtitles of  movies. To get these subtitle all you need to do is get on your browser and search for the movie for which you wish to download the subtitle.

How To Download Subtitles In VLC

  • Step 1: Download vlsub extension from Here and extract 
  • Step 2: Copy the vlsub.lua file and paste it in vlc installation directory to "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\extensions" if you don't find extension folder in the directory you can make a new folder named as extensions


  • Step 3 : Run any movie with vlc player 
  • Step 4 : While the movie is being played click on "view" and select "Download Subtitle"
  • Step 5: A new popup of vlc will appear on screen select "Search By Name" and hit enter wait for few seconds 
  • Step 6: select the appropriate subtitle and click on "download selection" the subtitle will be downloaded and start appearing on your vlc screen
